If crossbows are actually bad, how bad are they? Are they bad in the sense that you have a better chance of killing the Archdemon with a feather duster or bad as in there are better options. So, I would assume right after Lothering or once you cure Arl Eamon. I feel like it's the equivalent of a Wood Elf wearing heavy armor and giving him a claymore, telling him to have at it.Īnyways, I'd like to know some interesting builds that can be played as a Dwarf.Įdit: So, through some more thinking, I've been wondering are crossbows as bad as people make them out to be? I've heard people say that with a low/no strength modifier crossbows tend to only be good for the early game. I just can't picture a dwarf sneaking around, playing the role as a thief. This is also adding to the fact that when I picture what a dwarf would be, I'd picture something that's pretty much straight out of LotR.

But after looking into it for a bit, I quickly realized that crossbows are basically trash for most of the game. While humans and elves can be everything, dwarves can't be mages.Īfter playing through a fair portion of Dragon Age 2, I wanted to basically make a character that's based on Varric. I recently started a Dwarf Noble character who's going to wear heavy armor while wielding Starfang, the greatsword version.īut upon realizing it recently, I feel like the Dwarves got the short end of the stick in terms of character building.
