It's still a pretty good game in its own right, but the story is fairly separated and the mechanics are different enough.
However, the two games are extremely different games. The art style is fairly different, elves have a complete makeover, and there's a voiced protagonist with a dialogue wheel a la Mass Effect. There's also lots of stuff that's not better or worse necessarily, just flat out different. The friendship system with companions makes more sense and is a lot of fun. The characters are great (yay Bioware games), and the storyline is interesting. However, there's a lot about the game that's really good, too. There's some things that can get annoying - common complaints include repeated environments and wave enemy spawning. We get this question a lot, actually, and the responses tend to boil down to this: I've used it with just about every playthrough ever since I found it. I also second Vow of Pride Armor Set as suggested by /u/Disorderness. Sabal's Companion Weapons Pack (S C W P) - a set of unique weapons specific to each companion that improves with level-up, similar to Bianca (Bethany and Carver don't seem to be included, unfortunately).
Orana Without Makeup - if you think the female elven slave you come across during the quest A Bitter Pill looks a little.clown-ish, this mod will remove her makeup and make her look a little less bizarre. No More Bloody Teeth - if you have persistent gore enabled, this keeps blood spatter from showing up on everyone's teeth. Also includes a file to replace male Hawke's running animation with female Hawke's, just for giggles. Magic Merrill - a morph that makes Merrill look a bit closer to her DA:O model.įemale Hawke Movement Animation Tweak - replaces female Hawke's running animation with that of male Hawke. This piece can also be found in Hightown at the Robes by Jean Luc shop in Act 2.ĭuring Act 3, this final piece can be picked up only during the “Murder of Crows” mission, but you will only get this mission if your imported game file still has Zevran still alive. Ahem.Anyways, this piece can be found in the Hightown Apparel Shop in Act 2. It can be found during the “To Catch a Thief” mission in a chest when exploring the Lost-End Foundry.
